Carolina Dynamo

The Carolina Dynamo was established in 1992 as the Greensboro Dynamo, an amateur club. In 1993, the Dynamo joined the USL system playing their games at UNC-Greensboro. In 1995, they moved up to the 3rd Division. In 1995, they changed names to the Carolina Dynamo. Over the next 6 years, the Dynamo had a lot of success playing in the U.S. Open Cup, several times falling in later rounds to MLS teams. In 2002, Macpherson Stadium, named after the owner Neil Macpherson's father, was unveiled at Bryan Park. Also in 2002, the Dynamo was recognized and inducted into the United Soccer Leagues Hall of Fame. In addition, owner Neil Macpherson and coach Joe Brown were also inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Since then, the Dynamo has continued to offer a high quality of soccer and entertainment to fans in the greater Greensboro and Triad area.
