Last spring, my child played through the Greensboro Department of Recreation and Parks. Is this the same program?
Yes. As a result of the merger between Greensboro Youth Soccer and Guilford United Futbol Club, GUSA operates the spring and fall seasons.
What age groups are offered and are they co-ed?
Greensboro United will offer recreational soccer programs for children ages 3 ½ to 18 during the fall and spring. Greensboro United will attempt to offer age pure and gender specific divisions. Please note that some age groups may be combined to form a viable division. The decision as to whether or not to combine age groups will be made by the Director of Recreational Soccer on a seasonal basis and will be communicated in a timely manner.
What locations are available?
Greensboro United teams will be able to practice at Proehlific Park, Summerfield Athletic Park, Jaycee Park and other facilities around the community. Games will be played at Bryan Park, Proehlific Park, Jaycee Park and Summerfield Athletic Complex.
How are new teams formed?
Players who registered for the Fall and Spring Seasons with GUSA, will automatically return to their fall teams in the spring. Players who registered for the Fall only, can register again and return to their team. Players who are register for the first time this spring, can request a team to be placed on and GUSA will try to accommodate the request. New teams will be formed on a geographical (zip code / school) basis and at the discretion of the Director of Recreational Soccer.
Are special requests honored?
